Wisteria seeds and pods contain lectins and glycosides that cause severe GI upset.
The pea-like seed pods are especially attractive and dangerous.
Wisteria contains wisterin (a glycoside) and several lectins concentrated in the seeds and pods. They cause severe gastrointestinal irritation that can lead to dehydration and shock if untreated.
Sources
Even one or two seed pods can cause significant vomiting and diarrhea in a small dog.
Contact your veterinarian or an emergency animal poison hotline immediately. Do not induce vomiting unless instructed by a vet.
