Watermelon flesh is safe and hydrating. Remove seeds and rind.
Great summer treat — 92% water. Remove all seeds (can cause blockage) and rind.
Watermelon is 92% water, making it an excellent hydrating treat on warm days. It contains vitamins A, B6, and C, plus the antioxidant lycopene. The flesh is completely safe and nutritious. Seeds, while not toxic, can cause intestinal blockage if many are consumed. The rind is tough to digest and can cause GI upset.
Seedless watermelon flesh: safe in generous amounts — great for hydration on hot days. Remove all seeds (can accumulate and cause blockage in smaller dogs). Do not feed the rind — it is hard to digest and can cause vomiting. A few cubes make a perfect summer training treat.
