All parts of the bluebell, particularly the bulbs, are toxic to dogs.
Bluebells are protected in many areas but still common in UK gardens; dogs often dig the bulbs.
Bluebells contain glycosides resembling those in foxglove. While typically less potent, they can disrupt heart rhythm and cause severe gastrointestinal upset. The bulbs contain the highest concentration of toxins.
