science

Die Wissenschaft

Carrots are an excellent low-calorie treat rich in beta-carotene (which the body converts to vitamin A), fiber, and potassium. Raw carrots also help clean teeth mechanically and provide jaw exercise. Cooked carrots have slightly higher bioavailability of beta-carotene. Baby carrots or carrot sticks make great alternatives to commercial treats.

scale

Portionsanleitung

Carrots are safe in generous amounts. A whole carrot per day is fine for a medium to large dog. For small dogs, a few baby carrots or sticks. Raw or cooked — both are safe. Be mindful that very small dogs could choke on large chunks, so cut to appropriate size.
